Question:

Which part of the cardiac conduction system is the most distal from the initial impulse generation and actually conducts the charge throughout the heart tissue?

A Purkinje fibers
Explaination

The SA node in the right atrium generates the impulse that travels through the heart tissue and to the AV node. The AV node sits in the wall of the right atrium and coordinates atrial and ventricular contraction of the heart. The impulse then travels down to the bundle of His, the two main (left and right) branches of conduction fibers and to the Perkinje fibers which spread the impulse throughout the rest of the heart.
