Where does fertilization of an egg that is caused by a sperm cell occur?

A The fallopian tubes

Every month during a normal menstrual cycle, a single egg is released from the ovary and moves down the fallopian tubes toward the uterus. If sperm cells are in the reproductive tract, they will encounter and fertilize the egg in the fallopian tubes. The fertilized egg will subsequently travel the rest of the way into the uterus and implant in the uterine lining.
